Emergency
Diagnosis by telephone is not
consistent with responsible medical care. Please understand that we
avoid
attempting it for your welfare, not for our convenience. If
your appointment is delayed, it is because an
unanticipated
situation or condition has arisen with another patient. We beg your
indulgence under such
circumstances and pledge that you will be
afforded the same consideration should it become necessary. If the
delay is significant, you will be advised. If your schedule does not
allow you to remain, please advise our staff
and they will make
alternate arrangements for you. If your injury cannot wait until a
scheduled appointment, our
physicians are available Monday through
Friday at 7:00 am and Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 am in the Reading
Hospital Cast Room to see emergency room follow-ups and athletic
injuries.
One of our physicians is on call at all times. You
may reach him after normal working hours by calling our
office. The
answering service will locate the physician on duty to return your
call. After hours treatment will
normally be done at the Reading
Hospital. If you are taken to the Reading Hospital Emergency Room
for an
Orthopaedic problem, the staff there can contact our on call
physician, even when we are not the primary
orthopaedist on call.
